Solve the following motion problems.
1.) A plane is traveling at a rate of 400 kilometers per hour. How many kilometers can it travel in 4.5 hours?
2.) Lance’s house is 3 kilometers away from his school. He goes to school every day using a bicycle. If it takes him 15 minutes to go to school using his bicycle, what is his average speed in km/hr?
3.) The distance between Alma’s house and her office is 8 km. If she leaves her house at 7:00 am and drives her car to the office at an average rate of 40 km per hour, what time will she reach the office?
4.) Rey and Maco are 250 kilometers apart. They started driving their cars toward each other at the same time. Rey’s rate is 55 km per hour and Maco’s rate is 45 kilometers per hour. How many hours will they meet?
5.) Two cars leave the same place at the same time traveling to opposite directions. One car is traveling at a rate of 40 kilometers per hour and the other car is traveling at a rate of 30 kilometers per hour. In how many hours will they be 168 kilometers apart?
6.) Two cars leave the same place at the same time headed to the same direction. Car 1 is traveling at a rate of 55 kilometers per hour and the other car is traveling at a rate of 40 kilometers per hour. In how many hours will they be 60 kilometers apart?
7.) Bill travels to the East using his car at a rate of 30 kph. Four hours later, John starts out from the same point at heading East at a rate of 60 kph using the same route. In how many hours will John overtake Bill?
8.) Car A left Math City going to English City at an average speed of 40 kilometers per hour. Two hours later, Car B traveling 60 kilometers per hour leaves the same place for English City. In how many hours, will the car B overtake Car A?
9.) A car travels and average speed of 75 kph. If it traveled for 3.5 hours, what is the total distance traveled?
10.) A car and a bus start at the same place. The car is going 40 miles per hour and a bus is going in the opposite direction at 60 miles per hour. How long will it be until they are 250 miles apart?
